The Boeing Classic is an Official Event on the PGA TOUR Champions Tour, which features legends of golf 50 years or older and is played annually at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge in Snoqualmie, Washington.
Emirates’ sponsorship of the Boeing Classic adds the first US-based event to its impressive portfolio of golf sponsorships, which spans the globe. As the event's official sponsor, Emirates has a presence at the event through course branding, tournament hospitality, advertising, and on-site activity, including an exhibition area and an Emirates Youth Clinic. The 2012 Emirates Youth Clinic was hosted by one of golf’s great champions, World Golf Hall of Fame member and two-time Major Champion Sandy Lyle, who inspired over 200 children from the greater Seattle area.
A record-breaking crowd of 82,000 spectators witnessed the 2012 Boeing Classic, which was made possible with the help of over 1,000 committed volunteers. After an intriguing 54 holes, the title was won by American Jay Don Blake, who edged out two-time Major winner Mark O’Meara in a thrilling play-off.
Emirates’ relationship with the Boeing Classic provides a valuable platform to raise awareness and engage with existing and potential US customers following the launch of the airline’s non-stop service between Seattle and Dubai in March 2012. The sponsorship deal also demonstrates Emirates’ commitment to Boeing as the company's largest 777 customer and recipient of Boeing’s 1,000th 777 aircraft. Emirates currently flies to seven US gateways: Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
