Emirates has been a sponsor of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) since 2005 and the team's main shirt sponsor since 2006. A renewal of that commitment in 2008 makes the airline the official club sponsor through 2014.
PSG has been an integral part of French football's long and illustrious history; it is one of the only French clubs to have never been relegated from the highly competitive Championnat de France Ligue 1, France’s top professional soccer league.
At the time of the renewal, Boutros Boutros, Emirates Senior Vice President, Media Relations, Sponsorships and Events, said, “These are really exciting times for PSG and Emirates airline, and that is why we are pledging our support to the club and its formidable legion of fans across France. At Emirates, we want to connect PSG fans both in France and across the world.”
Chairman of the Board of Directors for PSG Charles Villeneuve said, “We are thrilled that Emirates airline has decided to continue its commitment to Paris Saint-Germain as the official club sponsor. It shows us that Emirates is a true investor in the sport of football and intends to help us achieve our goals every step of the way."
As a result of the sponsorship, Emirates enjoys highly visible branding in PSG’s world-famous Parc des Princes stadium; the "Fly Emirates" logo appears on the team shirt.
PSG is an integral part of Emirates sponsorship of top-flight soccer teams and events around the world.
Emirates’ impressive soccer sponsorship portfolio also includes a number of high-profile teams and events, including FIFA, Asian Football Confederation, Arsenal FC, AC Milan, Hamburger SV, Real Madrid, Olympiacos FC, Arsenal Soccer Schools Dubai, The Emirates Cup, and Zain Saudi Professional League.
