If I am newly enrolled can I claim Miles for any flights I have taken recently?

New members can claim Miles for Emirates flights flown up to two months prior to registering with Emirates Skywards.

How do I claim missing Miles from Emirates?

If you are missing Miles for Emirates flights, please log in and go to My Account where you can submit an online claim on the Claim Miles page for an immediate reply. If your details match those in our system, we’ll credit the missing Miles into your account straight away.

How do I claim missing Miles from an Emirates Skywards partner?

A claim can be submitted if Miles have not been credited into your account within three weeks of the transaction date. In this case, please take the following action:

  1. Airlines: please fill in the online claim form with the required information such as booking name, flight date, flight number, class of travel, origin, destination and ticket number.
  2. Hotels, car rental or retail & lifestyle: please fill in the online claim form and attach a copy of the original invoices within six months of the original transaction date.
  3. Banks: please contact your bank’s service centre directly.

Please allow six to eight weeks from the date your claim is received for any missing Miles to appear in your Emirates Skywards account.

How do I claim Miles for Family Bonus Members?

Simply visit the Claim Miles page of the website and enter the booking name and ticket number for the Emirates flight you wish to claim Skywards Miles for. This must match the booking name and ticket number we have in our records exactly for the claim to be authorised online.

Please note that family members cannot make backdated claims for flights they have taken before joining your Family Bonus programme. Family Bonus members do not earn Miles from activities with Emirates partners.

How do Skysurfers claim missing Miles?

To claim missing Miles on a Skysurfer account for an Emirates flight, the nominated parent or guardian can either call an Emirates Contact Centre or email us with the membership number, ticket details and booking reference. To claim missing Miles on a Skysurfer account for a partner transaction, the nominated parent or guardian should email us with account details and copies of the relevant invoices and/or receipts.

Why are Miles missing from my account?

Miles might be missing from your statement for several reasons. The most common are listed here:

  1. The transaction is still being processed (allow 48 hours for a flight booked with Emirates or up to three weeks for a transaction with an Emirates Skywards partner). 
  2. Your Emirates Skywards membership number was not quoted, or was misquoted, at the time of booking or at check-in. 
  3. You have not travelled on the inbound or outbound part of your journey yet. 
  4. The name on the reservation did not match the name registered on your Emirates Skywards profile.
How do I purchase Miles?

If you haven't earned enough Miles to achieve the reward of your choice, or you’d like to give Miles to a fellow Emirates Skywards member as a gift, you can purchase them online by logging in and going to the My Account section. Miles can also be purchased through your nearest Emirates Contact Centre.

  • You can buy a minimum of 2,000 and a maximum of 25,000 Skywards Miles every year, priced at USD 40 for every 1,000 miles.
  • The limit for purchasing Miles is 25,000 Miles per calendar year.
  • Please note that Miles cannot be purchased for a member who has already bought 25,000 Miles themselves, or had 25,000 Miles bought for them by another member in the same calendar year.
  • Purchased Miles are credited to your account or the recipient’s account immediately and are non-refundable.
  • Tier Miles cannot be purchased.
  • An earning activity (e.g. an Emirates flight or partner transaction) must show in your account before you can buy Miles for yourself.
  • An earning activity (e.g. an Emirates flight or partner transaction) must show in a recipient’s account before you can buy Miles for them.
Can I purchase 25,000 Skywards Miles and receive a transfer of 25,000 Skywards Miles?

Yes you can, as transferring and purchasing are different types of transactions. If someone transfers 25,000 Miles to your account, you can still purchase another 25,000 Miles in that calendar year. Transferring and purchasing Miles can both be done through your online account.

If I don’t have enough Miles for a flight reward, can I purchase additional Miles to top-up my account?

Can I transfer Skywards Miles from my account to another member’s account?

Skywards Miles can be transferred online to another Emirates Skywards account at a cost of USD 25 per multiple of 1,000 Miles. Miles can only be transferred if the receiving account has at least one earning activity.

How long are transferred Miles valid for?

Transferred Skywards Miles are valid for a minimum of 3 years from the date of transfer and will expire at the end of the receiving member’s month of birth on the third year.

Can transferred Miles be re-transferred to a third party?

Once transferred, Miles cannot be transferred again.

Once I transfer Miles can I reverse the transaction?

We are not able to transfer Miles back to your account once you have decided to give them away.

Can I transfer any number of Miles?

Miles can only be transferred in multiples of 1,000, beginning at 2,000 Miles, and you can transfer no more than 25,000 Miles to another Emirates Skywards member, or members, in one calendar year.

Can I purchase any number of Miles?

Miles can only be purchased in multiples of 1,000, beginning at 2,000 Miles. You can purchase no more than 25,000 Miles in one calendar year.

If I can’t get access to the internet is there any other way to transfer Miles?

At this time, it is only possible to transfer Miles online via the Emirates website.
