Emirates spices up the Birdcage on ‘Ladies Day’ at the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival

DUBAI, U.A.E., 5th November 2009 - The fillies were out in full force at the Emirates Marquee on Crown Oaks Day on Thursday, as the celebrations continued at the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Affectionately referred to as ‘Ladies Day’ the racing highlight was the Group 1 Crown Oaks for three-year-old fillies which was won by Faint Perfume, ridden by Michael Rodd and trained by Australian legend Bart Cummings; however it was Emirates Marquee that showcased the finest in terms of style and glamour.

The final day of the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival, Emirates Stakes Day, is fast growing in popularity and will take place at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday 7th November.
