HOMEMADE HOSPITALITY

We love to travel around the world, getting exposure to new stimuli and experiencing diversity;
we like to discover places to stay that are not only comfortable but that also have a touch of magic about them – places where the mind can be at peace, in other words.
And so, we set sail for India, which we criss-crossed from north to south, getting utterly bewitched by its colours, aromas and saints; we climbed the Himalayas to touch the roof of the world; we travelled across the Bolivian desert, with its blinding colours; we made our way through the primordial forests of Costa Rica; we stayed for months in our beloved Mexico, in search of ancient rites; and we paid visits to Paris, Madrid, Barcelona and Naples.
In the process, we accumulated ideas, objects and dreams.
Then we returned to Milan, our hometown, with its artisans, its tradition, its incessant desire to create and transform (in this respect, it’s akin to the Indian Trimurti of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva).
It was here in Milan that we found this house: a place where we would try to bring together tradition, design, craftsmanship, travel and – why not? – something of ourselves.

Over the years we have grown, and to the initial 4 rooms in Via Carlo Farini 4 we have added two more rooms in the building opposite, the “Ca di facc’” in Piazzale Baiamonti 3, and two apartments, Lasuite also in Via Carlo Farini 4, and Cola Montano, in the vibrant Isola area, a few minutes from the main office.

OUR CLIENTS

For months, we have been thinking about what else we could do for our planet, to reduce our environmental impact and how our Lafavia Bed & Breakfast could contribute more to the effort which has being made from many angles to battle the climate change.
Our new project is borned after a long chatting with Andrea Pesce, founder of zeroCO2: for every guest that comes to Lafavia B&B we are committed ourselves to plant a tree!
Together, in fact, with Andrea we follow a beautiful reforestation project in Guatemala with Papayas, Avocados, Limes and Moringas trees.
Wood, leaves and fruits: a project for the planet and for local communities.
An earth hand through men’hands.
It will be like a little game: upon your arrival,  guests will receive a code to activate and with a simple click you, our La Favia B&B Guest,  will be able to follow the growth of his/her and be a forhrigth witness of the project!
It is a small effort that we are so deligthed to do, together with our guests, to contribute to a greatful and current commitment!

HISTORY

MY TRASFORMATION
I was there, on that wall, for too many centuries…just observing the passing of time, the passage of history, watching others live out their lives.

I believed myself to be rather wonderful – visitors’ would stare at me in ecstasy! Then one day, a little brat made his way over, looked up at me and…ran off terrorised! Was it my hat that scared him – it was so fashionable at the time – or was it my nose?

Enough, I said to myself, times really have changed! And anyway, this silence really is boring, all this dust – I’m a woman, and the women of the third millennium are on the move.

So here I am, ready to welcome you, pamper you and – why ever not? – offer you a nice little cup of coffee!
