Emirates Skywards making dreams come true with Thanks a Million

Raffle tickets on sale now with all proceeds going to charity 

DUBAI, U.A.E., 27th March 2013Emirates Skywards, Emirates’ award-winning frequent flyer programme, is creating an instant Skywards Millionaire and supporting local charities through its annual Thanks a Million campaign.  To be in with the chance of winning, all aspiring millionaires need to do is purchase a raffle ticket for 20 dirhams.  The lucky winner will receive one million Skywards Miles, the equivalent of 22 Economy Class tickets from Dubai to Europe.  Emirates Skywards is donating one million Miles and proceeds from ticket sales will be donated directly to this year’s charity partners: World Food Program; Red Crescent; and Dubai Centre for Special Needs.  

Tickets are available at the Dubai World Cup on 30 March and from UAE Exchange outlets and online via Cobone until midnight on 27 March.  On top of the Grand Prize of one million Skywards Miles, there will be two runner up prizes of 500,000 Skywards Miles and 250,000 Skywards Miles.  The prize draw will take place at the Dubai World Cup.

“We now have over 8.6 million Skywards members worldwide, but the winner of Thanks a Million will become one of only eight members in the world with a current balance of over one million Miles.  With all proceeds going to charity and a sensational prize on offer, we would encourage people to pick up their raffle ticket today,” said Brian LaBelle, Senior Vice President, Emirates Skywards.  “This is our thirteenth year of supporting local charities in Dubai through the Thanks a Million campaign and our members have helped raised over 2.6 million dirhams since 2000.  This year we are hoping to beat our annual fundraising record of 350,000 dirhams.” 

Emirates Skywards is free to join and offers four tiers of membership - Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum - with each membership tier providing exclusive privileges.  On an ongoing basis, Skywards members can also choose to donate their Miles to a range of charity partners including The Emirates Airline FoundationSightsavers InternationalDubai CaresFriends of Cancer Patients and CARE International
