The Emirates Airline US Open Series brings six weeks of exhilarating tennis action to the United States, culminating at the final major championship event of the year, the US Open at Flushing Meadows in New York City.
The Emirates Airline US Open Series links nine ATP World Tour and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour tournaments together with the world’s best players earning points reflective of their performance. At the end of the Emirates Airline US Open Series, the three players who have collected the most points win a bonus at the US Open.
The 2012 Emirates Airline US Open Series will see last year’s men’s winner Mardy Fish, who recorded the highest number of points in the series history with 230, defend his title on home soil. In the women’s game, Fish’s fellow American and three time US Open winner Serena Williams will endeavour to win her second successive title in the US Open Series.
The sponsorship of the Emirates Airline US Open Series sees Emirates build on their existing tennis sponsorships in North America which include the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells and the Rogers Cup in Canada.
