Airport newsRefurbishments to both the international and domestic terminals were completed in late 2011, including improvements to the baggage claim and waiting areas. Upgrades are also being made to the car parks. The airport access road has also recently been improved.
Transfer between terminalsThe international terminal and the two domestic terminals are located 12km (7 miles) apart. Transfer between the international and domestic terminals is by free shuttle bus or by taxi.
Driving directionsFor the International Terminal, travel east along the Great Eastern Highway from Perth city centre, turn right onto Tonkin Highway and head south-east, turning left at Horrie-Miller Drive. For the domestic terminals, travel east along the Great Eastern Highway from Perth city centre and turn right at Brearley Avenue.
Car rentalAvis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Redspot and Thrifty are all represented at Perth Airport. Desks for these car hire operators are located on the ground floor of all three terminals.
Public transport and taxisBus: Bus 37 (tel: (08) 9428 1900; www.transperth.wa.gov.au) operates between the domestic terminals and the city centre.
Shuttle: The Perth Airport Connect Shuttle (tel: 1300 666 806; www.perthairportconnect.com.au) meets every arrival within 30 to 45 minutes and operates between both domestic and international terminals and the city centre (journey time: 45 to 60 minutes; fare: AUD 15 (from domestic terminals) or AUD 18 (from international terminal)). The Fremantle Airport Shuttle service (tel: 1300 666 806), which runs to Fremantle – a suburb of Perth – is also available.
Taxi: taxi ranks are located outside the domestic and international terminals; travellers may be required to pay their fare in advance. The same fare applies for either a single person or a group, and is around AUD 40 to the city centre.
Car parkingThere are large parking areas at the domestic and international terminals, directly in front of the terminal buildings, with both short- and long-term parking availability. Secure, undercover car parking is available at the domestic terminal's 'fast track' facility in car parks 1 and 2; short and long-term rates are available here.
Information and help desksThere is a self-help information centre on the ground floor of the international terminal. Volunteer customer service officers are also available daily to provide information and answer enquiries. They are recognisable by their distinctive gold jackets.
Airport FacilitiesMoney and communications: there are several bureaux de change open daily for all flights, some of which also offer travel insurance; ATMs and telephones are located throughout Perth Airport. There is also a postal service at Perth Airport. Mobile phone hire is available. Internet access machines are located in all terminals, and wireless internet access is also available.
Eating and drinking:
there are several restaurants, bars and cafés in the International terminal, including a pub and wine bar.
Shopping:
an extensive range of duty-free goods is available in Terminal 1 (International).
Luggage: Perth Airport has lost property offices in Terminal 1 (International) (tel: (08) 9478 8503), Terminal 2 (tel: (08) 9270 9504) and Terminal 3 (tel: (08) 9478 8703). Left-luggage lockers are located outside both the International and Domestic terminals.
Other facilities: baby changing rooms are available in all terminals. Showers are also available. A non-denominational quiet room for prayer or quiet contemplation is available for Perth Airport users on the ground floor of Terminal 1. An outdoor playground for kids is located just outside Terminal 1. A First Aid service can be contacted by calling (tel: (08) 9478 8572/3).
Conference and business facilitiesThere are no conference facilities at Perth Airport. The Comfort Inn Bel Eyre (tel: (08) 9259 3888; www.beleyremotel.com.au), 4km (2.3 miles) from Perth Airport, can provide meeting and conference facilities for up to 100 delegates, with audiovisual equipment for hire and catering available.
Disabled facilitiesPerth Airport is fully accessible to disabled passengers. Wheelchairs are available on request for passengers to use within the terminals, subject to availability.
Airport hotelsThere are no on-site hotels at Perth Airport but a number of options are located nearby. Information on accommodation is available from the self-help information centre on the ground floor of the international terminal, which has a direct telephone link to a hotel booking centre. The Comfort Inn Bel Eyre motel is located 4km (2.3 miles) from Perth Airport. The hotel has more than 100 rooms and services include courtesy transfers to and from the terminals.
