Weight and Piece concept

In line with international regulations, Emirates offers free baggage allowances based on either the weight or piece concept, depending on specific routes.

Weight concept:

If your itinerary includes flights operated by other airlines, different baggage rules may apply for these flights – learn more.

The standard free baggage allowance for all other Emirates destinations (excluding North and South America) as per the weight concept is 50kg for First Class, 40kg for Business Class and 30kg for Economy Class.

Piece concept:

The standard free baggage allowance for flights operating to or from North or South America is determined for each single piece of luggage. For piece concept journeys, total dimensions (length + width + height) of each piece must not exceed 158cm (62 inches). For Economy passengers with two pieces of luggage, the total combined dimensions of both pieces should not exceed 273cm (107 inches). Free baggage allowance for infants:

Passengers with infants are allowed an additional bag up to 10kg (22lb) that may not exceed 55 x 38 x 20cm  (22 x 15 x 8 inches) in size where the weight concept applies, or one piece of up to 23kg (50lb) and with total dimensions (length + width + height) not exceeding 115cm (45 inches) where the piece concept applies.
