In response to the sharp rise in the price of aircraft fuel worldwide, Emirates will resume collection of the “fuel surcharge” (a special additional airfare for fuel) commencing from 1st October 2009 (tickets issued on that date).
These prices are not added to the information on airfares in our pamphlets. Please note that the amounts below will be added to each airfare.
In addition, Emirates have established a new fuel surcharge for travel beyond Dubai for passengers originating in Japan. Please see Fuel Surcharge for “Beyond Dubai” for further details.
July 1st 2009 – September 30th 2009 (based on the departure date)
No fuel surcharge is necessary from July 2009 to September 2009 as the average price from February 2009 to April 2009 fell below USD60 per barrel.
October 1st 2009 – December 31st 2009 (based on the ticket issuance date)
