|Airport news||Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is relatively new, having opened in 2008. A second terminal for low-cost airlines is currently under construction and the first terminal is scheduled for expansion to accommodate an increase in passenger numbers.|
|Driving directions||From the centre of Hyderabad, follow the National Highway NH7 southwards. Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport lies just off the main road.|
|Car rental||Private rental vehicles, with drivers, are available at Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Operators include Carzonrent and One Car. It is normal in India when hiring a car to have a driver – local road conditions are difficult at best.|
|Public transport and taxis||Bus: Local APSRTC buses (tel: 1800 200 4599; www.apsrtconline.in) operate services from the airport to the city centre (journey time: 40 minutes and the fare Rs. 100).The Pushpak Airport Liner (tel: 1800 200 4599; www.apsrtc.gov.in) is the recommended bus service for visitors to Hyderabad wishing to take a bus rather than a taxi. The fare to the city is Rs. 250 and the journey time is approximately 40 minutes.There are also a number of long-distance bus and coach services connecting the airport with other cities in the region.|
Taxi: Metered taxis, operated by Sky Cabs (tel: (040) 4949 4949) and Meru (tel: (040) 4422 4422), are readily available outside the terminal. Journeys from the airport cannot be booked in advance, but trips to the airport can be reserved by phone. Fares start at about Rs. 600.

|Information and help desks||Information desks are located in the domestic departures area and in the Airport Village commercial area.|
|Airport Facilities||Money: Several banks, bureaux de change and ATMs are located in the terminal building.|
Communications: There is a public call office, which also offers fax facilities. Internet access can be found at several kiosks around the terminal building and Wi-Fi is available (the first 45 minutes are free).
Food: There are restaurants, cafés and international fast-food outlets available in both the domestic and international concourses. A selection of cafés and food stalls can also be found in the Airport Village in the public area.
Shopping: There is a wide range of shops at Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, including duty-free outlets, which offer locally produced products such as rugs and souvenirs, as well as goods of Western origin.
Luggage: Left-luggage facilities are available in the departure and arrival areas. Porter services (Rs. 100 for the domestic area or Rs. 200 for international) and a lost and found desk (tel: (040) 6660 6064) are available through the airport's Civil Aviation Office.
Other facilities: There are prayer rooms at various locations in the terminal. Spa facilities are situated in the domestic departure area. Smoking lounges are available in the terminal building. A medical room and pharmacy can assist with first aid needs.
|Conference and business facilities||There are 13 business lounges in the airport's domestic and international areas plus an additional three VIP lounges, which offer varying degrees of services. Among them is the Plaza Premium Lounge, which offers business services, refreshments, showers and rest rooms.
