|Airport news||Plans have been unveiled for an ‘Airport City’ at Manchester Airport, which will include the addition of business, retail and leisure facilities, as well as new hotels. The development is due to be completed in 2016.|
|Transfer between terminals||The Skylink moving walkway system links Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via the airport railway station.|
|Driving directions||Manchester Airport lies off junction 5 of the M56 motorway, which connects with the M60 (Manchester's ring road) at junction 4. Directions for all terminals are clearly signposted.|

|Public transport and taxis||Bus: Manchester Airport's bus network provides direct services to many local areas, as well as to other towns and cities. The 24-hour Skyline bus 43 operates to the city centre (journey time: 45 minutes; fare: GBP 2.90).
Coach: a number of National Express (tel: 0870 580 8080; www.nationalexpress.com) services run from The Station to various long-distance destinations throughout the United Kingdom.
Taxi: metered taxis (tel: (0161) 489 8899) are available either directly outside or near the arrivals hall of each terminal. A list of maximum fares for journeys outside Manchester is displayed near the taxi ranks (journey time to city centre: 25 to 45 minutes; fare: around GBP 18).
Rail: Manchester Airport's rail, coach and bus interchange, known as The Station, is connected to all three terminals via the Skylink moving walkway system. Trains operate direct to Manchester Airport from many stations in northern England and the Midlands. There is a frequent service between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly Station in the city centre (journey time: 15 minutes; fare: GBP 3.80), which has connections to most major destinations. |Car parking||There are 14,000 parking spaces available at Manchester Airport. Short- and long-term parking facilities are available at each terminal. The short-stay multistorey car parks are located close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Discounted pre-booking is available online. |Information and help desks||There are information desks situated in all terminals. Several members of staff are trained in British Sign Language.|
|Airport Facilities||Money and communications: ATMs, bureaux de change, banking facilities, internet booths and a post office are available. Wireless internet access is available in the terminal buildings at cafés and seating areas. |
Eating and drinking: all terminals have restaurants, cafés and bars with 24-hour facilities. Shopping: duty-free shops and a variety of gift shops and concessions are available.

Other facilities: These include a medical centre, two prayer rooms, baby changing facilities and a 24-hour children’s play area.
|Conference and business facilities||The Radisson Blu Hotel Manchester Airport (tel: (0161) 490 5000; www.radisson.com), which is served by the airport's Skylink covered walkway, houses conference space for up to 400 delegates. Conference facilities are also available in the Concorde Conference Centre (tel: (0161 489 8299), which is also home to the preserved Concorde aircraft. |Disabled facilities||There are accessible toilets, ramps, lifts and telephones throughout the terminals. All telephones are fitted with induction loops and the desk in Terminal 1 International Arrivals is equipped with a Minicom system. There are designated spaces in all car parks for disabled travellers (tel: 0871 310 2200) and airport buses are fully accessible. Passengers requiring wheelchairs or special assistance should contact their airline at least 48 hours in advance.|
