Q: When is the right time to buy the package?
A: Packages will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis and we suggest you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Q: Can I buy only part of the package?
A: Our 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ Finals Packages for two people include:
- Return First, Business or Economy Class airfares to/from Johannesburg, South Africa from selected Emirates gateways via Dubai
- 3 nights accommodation in a 3, 4 or 5-star hotel in Johannesburg or Sun City
- Ground transportation to/from the airport and hotel
- Ground transportation to/from the hotel and stadium
- Two World Cup Final match Category 1 ticket(s)
These components are inclusive and cannot be sold partially or separately.
Q: What information do I need to provide when booking my package?
A: As the applicant, you will need to provide your personal information, as indicated below, within the ticket application. Your guests will also be required to provide their personal information in order to complete the application. In all cases, each applicant and guest will need to provide the following details:
- Title
- First name
- Surname
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Passport reference
- Eligible Visa payment method details
As the lead name you will also need to provide the following details:
- Home address (must be a street address, not a P.O. Box)
- Contact details (email and telephone number, ideally a mobile/cell number)
Travel
Q: What if Emirates doesn’t fly from my city?
A: Emirates' ever expanding network means we now fly to more than 100 cities across six contents. If we do not fly to your local city, please make your own travel arrangements at your own cost to the nearest eligible Emirates gateway city to you.
Q: When do I travel to South Africa and how long for?
A: All Finals packages feature prearranged dates for Emirates flights, airport transfers, accommodation, and ultimately transport to the final match stadium.
Q: What if we have specific dates we wish to travel?
A: If you wish to depart for South Africa or return home on different dates other than those currently available as a part of the Finals Packages, Emirates flights can be tailored to meet your requirements at an additional cost; however your airport transfer(s) may not be available if your arrival and/or departure date ends up being different from your chosen Finals package. We also can not extend or shorten the accommodation booked under your chosen package. You will need to source any additional accommodation at your own cost yourself if that falls outside Finals Package inclusions and/or forfeit any unused nights.
Match tickets, accommodation & transfers are fixed dated on all Finals packages.
Q: What if we booked our package and now wish to change our travel dates?
A: The same as above applies, only if you’ve already booked your FIFA World Cup™ Finals Package and wish to change your Emirates flight details, passengers will incur a per person USD 100 amendment fee and be further subject to flight availability. The amendment fee applies to changes made following FIFA’s final draw scheduled to take place on 4th December 2009. Amendments to Emirates flights are free of charge prior to FIFA’s final draw.
Q: Can we upgrade our flights?
A: You are permitted to upgrade your Emirates flights to a higher class of travel. For example if you’ve booked your package to fly Emirates in Economy, then an upgrade to Business or First class is possible, however you must travel in the same class on all sectors. Hence if you fly Business class to South Africa, you must also travel Business class on your return sector from South Africa. Upgrade charges apply when doing so however no additional service fee will apply. Downgrading to a lower booking class is not permitted.
Accommodation & transfers
Q: What are my accommodation options in South Africa?
A: Emirates have held three hotels ranging from 3-star, 4-star and 5-star in the Johannesburg and Rustenburg (Sun City) area for the Finals Packages. The choice is yours; simply decide your preference of accommodation when booking your package.
It is important to note whilst accommodation is offered in all our packages, availability is limited and put on first come first served basis.
Q: Are meals also included?
A: No, meals are not included in the package price and must be born by the passenger and settled directly with the hotel.
Q: Will my travel expenses from hotel to stadium be included?
A: Yes, you will be transferred from your accommodation by bus to the stadium of play on the day of the Finals.
Tickets
Q: When do I receive my tickets?
A: Travel documents, including Emirates air tickets, and transfer & accommodation vouchers will be sent to you by e-mail approximately four weeks prior to travel.
FIFA Final Match tickets will be made available for collection at the hotel registration desk located in Johannesburg any day prior to the Final Match. The ticket holders must be physically present at the registration desk to collect their match tickets and passports will be required for identification purposes when collecting your match tickets.
The specific location of the hotel registration desk will be communicated by e-mail approximately four weeks prior to travel.
Q: What type of match tickets are on offer? Are they premium seats within the stadium?
A: The Emirates 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ Finals packages provide CAT01 tickets for all matches, at any of the participating stadiums. Please see diagram below depicting CAT01 seating in blue:
Q: I want to watch the game but my wife doesn’t. Can I buy part of the ticket?
A: Packages are inclusive of the final match tickets and can not be sold partially or separately.
Q: How can I assure my match tickets are authentic?
A: As an official partner of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ we guarantee:
- All tickets sold by Emirates are guaranteed to be authentic.
- All tickets sold by Emirates will be delivered in accordance to what specified in the order and in the terms and conditions of purchase.
Payment options & refunds
Q: What is the mode of payment?
A: The package must be paid with a valid VISA Signature, Infinite, or select Platinum credit card.
Q: Can I get a refund in case of an emergency?
A: All Finals packages are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Travel insurance providing medical, accident, and baggage protection in emergency circumstances is strongly recommended.
Q: Do package prices include tax or will I incur further costs?
A: Yes, all taxes are included in our packages, however, if increases via municipality and/or airport taxes occur any time prior to travel, you will be liable to pay in full, prior to your departure.
Q: What if I buy the package but don’t make it to the match? Can I get partial-refund?
A: Match tickets are 100% non refundable, even in non attendance cases.
Q: Is there a reduced Finals package price for my child?
A: No. All prices apply to both adults and children.
Q: Can I pay for Finals package in installments?
A: No. All Finals packages must be paid in full through your qualifying Visa card and are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Q: Can I use a relative's or friend's payment card to pay for my Package?
A: The lead name must be the authorized Visa cardholder.
Passport & visas
Q: What happens if I don’t get a visa for South Africa but have already bought the package?
A: It is your responsibility to ensure that all those travelling with you have a valid passport and any necessary visas to gain entrance into South Africa and/or countries transiting through (if applicable). General information on passport and visa requirements should be checked with the South African Embassy or Consulate in your home country.
All Finals packages are non-refundable.
Q: Why do I need to provide my passport details?
A: Due to security reasons it is essential that the name, address and passport number of each ticket user must be available for the relevant sources and authorities. The following information will be required:
- Name as in passport
- Date of birth
- ID / passport number
- Nationality
Emirates will forward all information received from Finals Packages purchasers to FIFA, Football federation, Organising committee and/or Police Authorities.
Emirates urges Finals Packages purchasers and all ticket holders to carefully read FIFA's terms and conditions for the World Cup 2010 as may be found on www.fifa.com.
Q: What happens if my personal details are incorrect or incomplete?
A: If your personal details are incorrect or incomplete you may be prevented from entering the stadium - please ensure you have filled all your personal details carefully as possible.
