Emirates, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, has announced a significant increase in the number of its flights between Nice and Dubai, starting in December 2008.
The current three flights a week from Nice, all of which stop in Rome, will switch to five non-stop flights a week. With these new flights, passengers originating from southern France will be able to connect to a greater number of destinations available on the Emirates network that currently includes over 100 cities in 62 countries, with just a single stop in Dubai.
Emirates will therefore be the only airline to offer regular connections between southern France and the Middle East, Asia and Australasia.
Airbus A330-200s will be used for these flights, with a three-class configuration providing 12 seats in First Class, 42 seats in Business Class and 183 seats in Economy Class. All passengers will have access to Emirates widely acclaimed ice in-flight entertainment system and the excellent in-flight meal service.
These new flights will be introduced to coincide with the 15th anniversary of Emirates’ first flights between Nice and Dubai.
“In 2008, we will be celebrating 15 years of Nice-Dubai flights, and this switch to five non-stop flights a week is the best way of celebrating the event. We are now able to offer so many more travel opportunities to passengers originating from southern France who will be able to take advantage of Emirates’ entire global network.
Our passengers will be able choose from a far greater number of destinations, which previously required a stop in Paris or other cities for connecting flights. Trips to Australasia, South Africa and East Asia, along with the Gulf States, can now originate directly on flights out of Nice”, said Jean-Luc Grillet, General Manager Emirates France and Benelux.
The five flights a week will operate in both directions between Nice and Dubai on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Further, these new flights will provide 90 tonnes of freight capacity a week from Nice through the multi-award winning Emirates SkyCargo service.
These new flights between Nice and Dubai will be operational starting 1 December 2008.
