When Emirates and Arsenal announced their £100 million (AED 662.2 million) partnership in October 2004, it was the largest sponsorship agreement ever seen in British football and one of the most significant in world sport.
Back then Emirates Stadium was not much more than a plan and had no physical structure. Now, after countless hours of hard work and dedication from everyone involved at Sir Robert McAlpine and Arsenal Football Club, we have a fantastic state-of-the-art stadium that everyone can be truly proud of.
Research shows that Arsenal has a global fan base of around 27 million people. This figure makes the club one of the largest sports brands in the world and one of the biggest in the English Premiership.
When the 15-year partnership with Arsenal was announced, we at Emirates felt that we had found a true world leader, and a partner with whom we could jointly achieve our common objectives on the international stage. The agreement, valid until 2021, gives the airline naming rights to the club’s £357 million home, seating 60,000 spectators in state-of-the-art cutting-edge facilities
Already in its third season, Emirates Stadium has proven to be a very good investment for us, working globally across a network linking over 100 destinations in 61 countries, people around the world are truly proud to be associated with such an incredible project.
