Excess Baggage Purchasing Terms & Conditions

Pre-paid excess baggage purchased on emirates.com is non-refundable*, non-endorsable and non-transferable.
Purchase is available to customers with ticketed reservations for Emirates-operated flights only. Limited to one online purchase of excess baggage per eligible** passenger per continuous journey.
A 30% online discount is applicable to purchased excess baggage weights of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 kg (when travelling to destinations where the weight concept applies) or for up to a maximum of three (3) additional pieces (when travelling to destinations where the piece concept applies).
The discount rate is applicable only for excess baggage purchased on emirates.com. Excess baggage purchased at the airport of departure or at any Emirates office is charged at standard excess baggage rates.
Purchase may be made between 24 hours and 90 minutes prior to flight departure and is valid only for the flight and date shown on the excess baggage purchase receipt.
Any additional excess baggage over your online purchased amount will be charged at the standard airport rate upon presentation of baggage at departure airport.
Maximum weight per bag is 32 kg (71 lb) for transportation in to, out of or via Dubai International Airport in accordance with Dubai Civil Aviation regulations.
You must present your excess baggage purchase receipt at the airport check-in desk on departure. The receipt will be available to print on Emirates.com on confirmation of purchase and will be sent by email to the address specified during the purchase process.
Excess baggage charges quoted on emirates.com will be billed in the currency of the flight departure country or in US Dollars, as applicable. Airport tax levied on excess baggage purchases from specific countries will be collected at the time of purchase.
Online excess baggage purchase is not available in all countries on Emirates’ route network.
Emirates reserves the right to change the rates, terms and conditions of the online pre-paid excess baggage product at any time with or without notice.
All baggage is carried subject to Emirates General Conditions of Carriage for Passengers and Baggage.

* Refund available only in the event of involuntary flight changes, flight cancellation and/or involuntary re-route to another carrier.
** Adult and child fare tickets are eligible. Purchase is not permitted on infant ticket rates.
