The Thailand Open, founded in 1965, was previously sanctioned by the Asian Tour before it became a OneAsia Tour event in 2010. The OneAsia Tour event is a joint venture between the PGA Tour of Australasia, the China Golf Association, the Japan Golf Tour, the Korean Golf Association and the Korean PGA.
The Thailand Open is an annual event held in early to mid-August and is competed for at the Suwan Golf and Country Club, Bangkok. With a prize fund of USD 1 million, the Thailand Open attracts a truly global field whilst maintaining a strong South East Asia presence. The 2013 title was taken by Prayad Marksaeng of Thailans.
