|Airport news||Construction of the Union Pearson Express railway station at Terminal 1 commenced in 2013. Once complete, it will bring fast, reliable rail connections from downtown Toronto. Regular services between Union Station and Toronto Pearson are due to start in spring 2015.|
|Transfer between terminals||The airport's LINK train offers free transportation between Terminal 1, Terminal 3, the Sheraton Gateway Hotel and Viscount Station with stops at the Value Park Lot, Value Park Garage and the ALT Hotel. The train runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is wheelchair accessible.|
Note: A bus service temporarily replaces the train between March and October 2013 due to construction work.
|Driving directions||From central Toronto, follow the Gardiner Expressway westbound and turn north on Highway 427. The airport is clearly signposted from this road after around 10km (6 miles).|
|Car rental||Avis, Budget, Dollar/Thrifty, Enterprise, Hertz and National/Alamo are represented at counters on level 1 of the car parks linked to the terminals. Discount and Enterprise are among the companies located off-site. Pre-arranged courtesy vans transport customers to the off site hire car offices.|
|Public transport and taxis||Bus: Public bus services are provided by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) (tel: (416) 393 4636; www3.ttc.ca). The 192 Airport Rocket provides an all-day accessible service between the airport and Kipling Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway (journey time: 20 minutes; fare: C$3), from where travellers can take the subway to downtown Toronto.The Airport Express (tel: 1 800 387 6787 or (905) 564 3232; www.torontoairportexpress.com) is a 24-hour service running to downtown Toronto and several major hotels (journey time: 45 minutes; fare: around C$30).There are other bus and coach services to Toronto and the surrounding areas. Information is available from the ground transportation desks in the arrivals hall of each terminal.|
Taxi: The tariff for taxis and limousines to/from the airport is based on metered rates, with updated tariffs and company listings available on the airport website. The general fare to central Toronto is around C$50.
|Car parking||There are more than 15,000 car parking spaces at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Short-term parking is located in car parks linked to both terminals – the Express Car Park at Terminal 1 is only available for stays of up to three hours. There are reduced rate, long-stay car parks on Viscount Road and Airport Road; these are connected to the airport terminals by the free LINK train. A ‘cell phone waiting lot’ is available for drivers picking up arriving passengers.|
|Information and help desks||Information desks are located on the arrivals levels of both terminals. Uniformed assistants are also on hand to help with enquiries.|
|Airport Facilities||Money: Bureaux de change and ATMs are available throughout both terminals.|
Communications: Free Wi-Fi internet is accessible within the terminals. Postboxes are located in the departure areas.
Food: There is a good selection of bars and restaurants throughout the airport, both pre- and post-security. These include everything from Italian eateries and burger joints to Irish-themed pubs.
Shopping: There are numerous shops at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Pre-security in Terminal 1 is limited to newsagents and a travel accessories shop, while in Terminal 3 there are also a handful of souvenir shops. The post-security areas of both terminals offer a greater selection, including duty-free outlets.
Luggage: A porter service and left-luggage facilities are available in both terminals. Trolleys are located throughout the terminals and parking garages. Both terminals have lost and found services (tel: (416) 247 7678).
Other facilities: A counselling service is available for all passengers. Inter-faith chapels, baby change facilities and shoeshine services are located in both terminals.
|Conference and business facilities||There is a choice of five premium lounges at the airport. A fully equipped business centre and meeting space for up to 300 delegates is available within the Sheraton Gateway Hotel (tel: (905) 672 7000; www.starwoodhotels.com) at Terminal 3|
|Disabled facilities||There are lifts, ramps, disabled toilets and TTY telephones in the terminals. The inter-terminal LINK train and Terminal Link bus are wheelchair-accessible and disabled parking spaces are provided in all car parks.
