In a large, remote house in the steppes of the Don River, four generations of the Shamanov family have gathered for a 100th birthday celebration. When the eldest brother, Victor, suddenly appears after a 25 year absence, unspoken family conflicts come to light, but nobody suspects that Victor is escaping his dark past and that a gang of heavily armed assassins are on his trail.
