When will online booking become available in my country?

We are planning to introduce online services from new destinations in the near future. As soon as we launch online services from a new destination, we will announce it on our website.

In the meantime, if you live in a country where online booking is not yet available, you can still benefit from using this site by finding suitable flights online and then booking your ticket through our email enquiry form. Alternatively, you can call your local Emirates office to make your booking.

How do I get started using online booking?
You can start by visiting Make a Booking in the Plan & Book section of this site. You will then be guided through the process of planning an itinerary, selecting flights, and making ticketing arrangements.
Can I check availability and fares without actually purchasing a ticket?
You do not need to pay or even provide your credit card details to check availability and fares. We only require your payment details if you choose to complete a booking.
Can I make a booking online with my credit card if I am not travelling myself?

This will depend on the country of departure. In some countries, for security reasons, the holder of the credit card used to book a ticket or group of tickets must be one of the travellers on that itinerary or have the same family name. In some cases, you may be required to present the credit card used to pay for the tickets at the airport check-in counter prior to receiving your boarding pass.

On the Enter billing information page where the credit card details are entered, if the "Cardholder family name" can be typed in, you will be able to pay for the booking even if you are not travelling and do not hold the same family name as one of the travellers. If the "Cardholder family name" appears in a drop-down menu and cannot be changed from those of the travellers, you will unfortunately not be able to pay for the booking unless you are travelling or have the same family name.

As an alternative, you could select a different payment option where available, such as bank transfer, PayPal or simply to book online and make the payment at a local Emirates office. The options available will depend on the country of departure and how much time remains prior to your flight.

Please note that the fare quoted is only valid for payment in the country of departure. Due to ticketing regulations, a different fare may apply if you wish to pay for the tickets at an Emirates office in another country, or in some cases you may not be able to pay outside the country specified at the time of booking. After three days, the booking would be cancelled automatically if tickets have not been collected and paid for. Please contact your local Emirates office to confirm.

Emirates Skywards members may make a redemption booking for friends and family, and pay for the applicable taxes online with their own credit cards.

Once I am satisfied with an itinerary, how do I purchase it?
Once you have selected a combination of flights that you are satisfied with, click ‘Book this Itinerary’ at the bottom of the screen to begin entering your details. You will be guided through the process, from selecting a ticketing option, to entering passenger details, to providing payment information. Depending on your flight details, you may pay by credit card online or over the phone, or by cash or credit card in person, either at an Emirates office or at the airport. You will be notified of your available options at the time of booking.
How do I know my ticket has been booked and paid for?

Once you have confirmed all your flight, personal, and payment details, a summary of this information will be displayed along with your booking reference.

The booking reference indicates that your reservation has been confirmed. An email confirming your booking will be sent to the email address provided by you during the booking process.

If I book online, how do I get my ticket?
If you book online, you will receive an electronic ticket (also referred to as an ‘eticket’) by email to the address you provided when during the booking process.
What is an electronic ticket?
Emirates' new electronic tickets do away with paper tickets and allow you to book flights conveniently over the internet. After you have completed the online transaction to purchase your tickets, you will be shown a confirmation page and sent a confirmation email, both containing your personal and flight details and a unique reference number. All you need do is print out either one of these and present it along with your passport at the check-in desk.

What if I choose to receive a paper ticket?

Depending on your travel details, you may have the option to collect a paper ticket in advance at an Emirates Office, on the day of departure at the airport, or have it delivered to you. Delivery can be made by courier or by mail, if time allows. Delivery options vary from country to country, however, and also depend on time before departure. Find out more about how we arrange deliveries in your country.

Please note that Emirates can arrange to deliver tickets only in your country of departure. Please also note that if the scheduled departure of your outbound flight is less than 48 hours from the time you make your online booking, you must collect your paper tickets at the airport.  An alternative in this case would be taking the eTicket option if online booking is available in your country.

What are the time limitations for booking online?

Online booking using real time payment is available for any flights up to 2 hours before scheduled departure time. Real time payment options include credit card, debit card, PayPal and real time bank transfer.

Other payment types including bank transfers, Western Union etc have their own advance purchase restrictions, please view FAQ here.

Online booking is also not available for any flight with a scheduled departure more than ten (10) months into the future.
