|Airport news||Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport has recently undergone extensive expansion and improvement, adding capacity and expanding passenger facilities, as well as improving road access. This includes a new Terminal 2, which is due to be fully operational by the end of 2014. An extension to the new Mumbai Metro LRT system will reach the airport by 2016.|
|Transfer between terminals||The airport terminals are spread over two different locations, 4km (2.5 miles) apart. Free inter-terminal air-conditioned coach services transfer passengers between the terminals every 20 minutes during the day.|
|Driving directions||The airport is well signposted from Mumbai and can be reached by taking National Highway 8 northwards – this passes the airport site (Terminal 1) at Santa Cruz. Terminal 2 can be reached by heading further north on the highway before turning eastwards onto Sahar Road.|
|Car rental||Car hire companies are operated by private agencies and can be found in the arrivals halls of both terminals. It's not wise or usual to opt for the self-drive option – cars with drivers are not expensive. Details of operators can be found on the airport website.|
|Public transport and taxis||Bus:

) city bus service to Mumbai. Buses 312 and 321 run to the nearby Vile Parle East train station from Terminal 1 and 2 respectively. Local bus fares are very low, but travelling on this mode of transport can be crowded.
Intercity coach services can be booked in the arrivals areas of Terminal 2.
Pre-paid taxis, metered taxis and motor rickshaws are available at the airport. Taxis are the preferred choice of transport for the arriving visitor without pre-arranged hotel transportation. Rates to central Mumbai start at around INR450 with an air-conditioned vehicle and the journey time is upwards of one hour, depending on traffic.
A railway reservation counter is situated in Terminal 2. Trains run to the nearby airport Mumbai CST Terminus (formerly known as the Victoria Terminus) and Churchgate for connections to Mumbai and destinations throughout India. Buses 321 and 308 connect the airport with the existing Metro links.
|Car parking||Car parking areas are situated at both terminals. There are more than 2,000 spaces in total, with premium and standard car parking options available at both terminals.|
|Information and help desks||A meet and greet counter is located in Terminal 1. There are also tourist information counters.|
ATMs and bureaux de change are available at both terminals.
Telecommunications centres, offering telephones, fax, internet and photocopying services, are located in both terminals. Wireless internet access is available free of charge throughout the airport.
There is a range of bars restaurants, snack bars and ice cream parlours at the airport. These range from restaurants serving local delicacies to international chains.
Numerous shops are located within the terminals, including designer clothes retailers, jewellers and newsagents. Duty-free shopping is available in Terminal 2.
Left-luggage facilities are available in both terminals. Lost items should be reported at the Lost and Found Department in Terminals 1 (tel: 98338 57114 or 98338 68722) and 2 (tel: 97690 68860).
Other facilities at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport include a pharmacy, first aid and medical services, child care rooms and smoking lounges.
|Conference and business facilities||A business centre and executive lounges are situated in the departures areas of both terminals. Facilities in these areas include internet access, fax machines and shoe-polishing machines. Various airlines provide business class lounges and there is a designated executive lounge.|

|Disabled facilities||Facilities for the disabled include lifts connecting the various floors, disabled toilets and disabled parking spaces. Wheelchairs are available from the airlines on request: passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.|
|Airport hotels||There are a number of hotels near the airport; some city properties offer a courtesy shuttle service to/from the airport.
