Emirates has described its desire to increase flights to Canada as a no cost, no risk economic stimulus for the Canadian government.
The economic impact study conducted by InterVISTAS Consulting lends further validation to that claim. Their study examines the impact of the existing three weekly flights between Toronto and Dubai as well as the projected economic impact of additional flights to Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
The study reveals that the Federal Government’s refusal to allow Emirates increased access to Canada is costing the Canadian economy thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in new economic activity and tourism.
