UBS Hong Kong Open

Emirates and UBS Hong Kong Open Sponsorship

The Hong Kong Open, which is now known as the UBS Hong Kong Open, was co-sanctioned by the European Tour and Asian Tour.  The tournament was founded in 1959, but has been part of the European Tour schedule only since 2001.

With a prize pot of $2,750,000, the UBS Hong Kong Open attracts some of the best players from around the world and provides a great platform for Emirates to profile their brand to a global golf audience.  Since obtaining European Tour status, the event has been played at The Hong Kong Golf Club in Sheung Shui, New Territories.

The UBS Hong Kong Open, which is hosted annually around November or December, is one of the final tournaments on the European Tour schedule.  Over the years, many of the world’s best golfers have won the UBS Hong Kong Open, including Bernhard Langer, José María Olazábal, Greg Norman, Tom Watson, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Pádraig Harrington and Colin Montgomerie.  In 2011, young Irish golfing sensation Rory McIlroy lifted the UBS Hong Kong Open trophy for the first time.

Emirates also sponsors The Ryder Cup, Japan Open, WGC-HSBC Champions, Emirates Australian Open Championship, Australian PGA Championship, Austrian Golf Open, Avantha Masters, Ballantine’s Championship, Barclays Singapore Open, Maybank Malaysian Open, Thailand Open and Alstom Open de France.
