- Grasse, in southern Provence, is found 16 kilometres north of Cannes. It is famous world over for its perfume production. Grasse is a beautiful town with medieval buildings, narrow streets, cafés and restaurants.
- Arles is a favourite destination in Provence, made famous in recent times by the artists Van Gogh and Gauguin, but it has been popular since Roman times, as can be seen by the wonderful Arena in the centre of Arles, still used for bullfights.
- Cannes is a sleek, sunny and celebrity-studded city with a curving crescent of beaches, designer shops and art deco architecture.
